Where do you live? What do you do?

Travis and I live in a house. Our landlord and his daughter live on the first floor. Our roomate, Annegret, lives on the second floor and we live on the third floor. Our roomate and us share a bathroom and a kitchen. Our house is located in Gartenstadt, close to Schwimmhalle and Stadion.

We live where it says "West" in Gartenstadt

I work as an English teacher at a language school called Berlitz. It's located on Kropeliner Strasse, the main street in this city. I am a freelancer and teach different levels of English classes. I really enjoy working here because everyone is so nice.

Lichtwoche (Light week)

The city of Rostock always has this light week where they have a bunch of lights and shows for the people. It gets dark pretty early here (like around 4:30pm) so I guess this is their way of having something to do once it gets dark. I really like it because I can just get off work and wonder around, drink some Gluhwein and eat a Bratwurst.

This is how they light up the buildings in the center of the city

And these are some street performers they brought all the way from Berlin

Trick or Treat!

Happy Halloween! Today, we went to a party at ST. Germans are not really into Halloween but we couldn't just not celebrate it so we painted our faces and went to the club.

American Food

We went to Little Money today (an American diner) and had burgers and fries. Our burgers came with little American Flags.

After that, Travis had to work as a bartender for the Auslandsamt. We met with the other Amis (Americans) and then went to da club.

You can see me

Class and "Mexican Food"

Today, I went to class with Travis and sat in a lecture class for 90 minutes. Didn't really know what the professor was talking about so I just pretty much played on my phone. I thought it was interesting that students can eat/drink during class and it's not a big deal. At the end of class, everyone knocked on the tables. Travis explained that it means approval of the information just taught.

We left around 7pm and that's when we decided to go to this "Tex-Mex" restaurant called Salsarico.

Protest in Doberaner Platz (Dobi)

Another Sunday in Germany. Today, we went to Dobi to walk around and explore some more but we were stopped by a protest. Travis asked me to film it for a bit.

Warnemünde (War-nee-moon-dee)

Sundays are pretty boring in Germany. Stores are closed so people get to walk around the city or visit family/friends. We decided to go to the beach with Caro today and it was pretty nice. We had some infamous Fischbrötchens and checked out a Cuban restaurant. I had to try a mojito with real Cuban rum.
